The application Terminal allows a user to enter command lines from the keyboard. It emulates the text-only interfaces of early bronze-age computers.
In Macintosh computers, Terminal can be found in the Utilities folder, under Applications (/System/Applications/Utilities).
It can also be found by clicking on the Launchpad icon, and typing 'term' in
the search field.
In Linux computers, Terminal can be found by typing 'term' in the search field. The screen capture at right shows the Terminal application in Ubuntu.
Because the Terminal app is commonly used, it may be in the task bar at the bottom of the screen.
In Windows computers, the terminal application is called 'Command Prompt'. It can be found by typing 'cmd' in the search bar at the bottom left of the screen.
Command Prompt will appear in the search results.
